Book review

How to Win Friends & Influence People- Dale Carnegie

It remains The only non-fictional book that I have read till now and found it to be very interesting. Even though this book was written almost a century ago, and most of the political examples look just like stories without much context, The principles are still relevant to today’s time as much as any time before. The book presence deals advice on human relationships and it’s even more relevant in this age where many of us communicate by text and social media than we face-to-face. This was the first book that opened up the human psyche to many people and gave us a key to understand both ourselves and others.

The book is divided up into four parts which were fundamental techniques in handling people, ways to make people like you, how to win people your way of thinking, be a leader. Some of these principles like be a good listener give honest and sincere appreciation try seeing things from other point of you may seem really common because a lot of them are. however only a few of us actually live by these principles. Most of the people forget these principles because they are not the easiest and most convenient option to follow.

To follow this properly it often takes more time and effort and in today’s busy world those are hard to justify. The book pages about the best strategies to use and having great relationship with people around. there is a kind of simplicity in Canegie’s ideas even though it may be ironic. Reading this book is an opportunity to think about ourselves under nature and improve the quality of our interactions with other people.
